This course can help you. The course was set up to let people who are already creating jewellery get more familiar with wax modelling.
During this two day course, you will get insight into the production process, which can help you communicate with the caster more effectively.
But mostly you will be working practically, learning the techniques of wax modelling by hand.
A nice added benefit is that you will meet other people in the jewellery making business. Lots of information and tips tend to be exchanged during the course

Everyone who makes jewellery or other little objects and wants to expand their knowledge and possibilities.
Program of the Wax Modelling Course
We’ll start with the introduction; what wax types are there, what tools and techniques you can use. Then you’ll put them into practice on your own level. If you’re working with wax for the first time, we’ll start with the basics. You’ll learn (among other things) how to make a symmetrical hollow ring, how to make a piece of jewellery with the build-up method and how you can make a simple setting and textures. Are you more experienced? You’ll be focussing on the wax modelling techniques you want to learn. In short, I’ll customize the lessons to what you want to learn.
There’s attention for questions you may have from your own experiences and plenty of tips along the way.
Result:
You’ll know about the diverse possibilities of working with wax
You’ll have made a number of wax models with a variety of techniques
You’ll have worked with a number of wax types
You’ll know what’s necessary to have a wax model cast properly
You’ll be able to start practising with wax in your own workshop with very little investment.

Ik heb geleerd wat met was mogelijk is en dat het met simpele gereedschappen kan.
De hele workshop vond ik waardevol en dat ik mocht werken met apparaten uit de tandtechniek was fijn.
Wat ik persoonlijk heel mooi vond was dat het een kleine groep was, je krijgt genoeg aandacht van de meester om te leren. Daarnaast is de manier van informatie delen van Dieuwke heel prettig, ze is rustig en geeft iedereen de ruimte om hun ideeën uit te proberen. Dat we een boekje met technieken kregen was ook fijn.
Ja zeker, ik zou de cursus aanbevelen.

Ik kan met zagen, boren, vijlen, buigen en solderen heel veel.
Maar omdat met deze technieken niet alle vormen te maken zijn, dacht ik aan wasmodelleren.
Anders dan bij computerontwerpen en 3d printen leek me dit makkelijker en sneller te leren.
Met was kan ik, sneller dan in metaal, materiaal wegnemen. Vijlen, frezen, branden, enzovoorts
Maar dat ik ook was kan toevoegen en modelleren, is voor mij nieuw.
Het lijkt zo bijna op boetseren en dat maakt het voor mij een waardevolle techniek.
Deze cursus is voor iedereen, die weinig of geen ervaring heeft met het werken in was, zeer zeker aan te bevelen.
Daarbij waren de cursus dagen ook heel gezellig en door de contacten met medecursisten heb ik ook nog veel andere dingen op kunnen steken.
Ik denk dat ik na verloop van tijd wel interesse zal hebben in een vervolg. Een cursus voor gevorderden bv.
